Purposeful Living desires to create a facility for women who exit drug rehabilitation programs and need transitional housing. Our program will offer educational and vocational skills and certifications and provide the tools necessary to rebuild relationships with children and family members. We envision a world where everyone can be productive members of society. As the organization grows, we will build a similar facility for men.
While the organization raises funds to begin the shelter project, we will provide back to schools drives and activities such as after-school programs, swimming lessons, and sports programs for children. We will provide packaged food goods, hot meals, and resources to people experiencing homelessness. We offer reading, tutoring, and counseling by clergy.
We carry out these projects with assistance from the mayor and other partners, including the Community Food Bank of Union and One Fire Church of Newark.
